We got to meet a lot of good entertainers
from all over the world.
From Holland ,We met the Mother and daughter (Barbara and Jane.
They did not sing but they were a great audience. we met a cute
4'10 blond named Shannon who was able to belt out a lot of great
tunes , I also got to sing with her to "Pictures"in
a duo .( she shared about how she will be in a boat race this
weekend. and I suggested I write her a song.
Lori P teamed up with Andy to do a Sonny
and Cher tune"I got you babe than later Lori did a great
Annie Lenox tune,.
Stacy of Wisconsin belted out a few Pop tunes.
Michelle La Rochell , did an excellent version of "Me and
Mrs Jones, she sings with unbeliable soul and comes from a family
of singers, her dad in the do wop group of the fifties and brother
a top lead player in a national group.
Ronnie was a real hit as he got
all the audience involved in the songs he performed, followed
by Ronnie with Frank Sinatra's song"Thats Life".
All our lives we are subjected to tunes on the radio, and TV,
and people saying your great you should sing that tune., so we
now think in our minds we say ,
I can do that as well, and when we have the time to perform these
tunes, we seem to experience
3 1/2 minutes of Fame.
I must admit we all have those
desires to sing, I do every time I can at any new location, so
I can establish a contact with the people who are there. I started
out with a few songs that I really like. Elvis's "
I want you I need you I love you" , followed about 30 minutes
later with "Born To be Wild",and a few others. I convinced
Shannon to do a duo, Pictures.
Al did a splendid rendition of "Sister Christian"and
got all the audience singing along.
Next night Friday we relaxed
Sat night was great and we got to unite with a great group of
people celebrating a birthday. I got to listen to Lori P do a
few more songs and we got to become friends. Being in a strange
city with basically no friends, Karaoke is a great way to meet
new friends.
Sunday was another fun night as Lori and I got to meet some great
people from Canada . One of the special talents that we noticed
was a guy that had that special voice you might hear in a Disney
production.
I'm sure there is a lot of other places to do Karaoke, but if
you are looking to meet new friends, it's just like it's title
FRIENDLY'S TAVERN
( it has a great out side deck , so you won't have to give up
smoking, but it's SMOKE free inside.
