Miss Homestead/FL Keys USA® and Miss Homestead/FL Keys
Teen USA® Pageants Seek Local Contestants by May, 4, 2007
Homestead/FL Keys, FL - May 4, 2007 - The Miss USA® Pageant
system is searching for contestants for its official preliminary
adult and teen competitions encompassing Homestead/FL Keys to
be held May 6, 2007. Applications are due April 23, 2007 to local
organizers Halavin Productions.
"We're looking for goal-oriented women 13-26 to represent
their hometown," said company owner and pageant director
Angie Halavin. "The benefits from participating are significant,
let alone winning."
Contestants are given life-skills coaching and pageant winners
will receive a total prize package in excess of $8,000. Each
contestant will receive training in setting and achieving goals,
dealing with stress, public speaking and public presentation.
"Contestants gain increased confidence, poise and self-esteem
through their participation," said Halavin, a former pageant
competitor. "These qualities will serve them well throughout
their lives."
As part of the prize package the winners will also receive
cosmetics and skin care products, make-up application training,
hair consultation, head shots, and more to prepared them for
the State competition.
Pageant winners also will have the opportunity to advance
to state level competition where both winning prize packages
include a $40,000 college scholarship.
The Miss Homestead/FL Keys USA® (ages 18-26) and Miss
Homestead/FL Keys Teen USA® (ages 14-17) pageants will be
held May 6, 2007. Both pageants will be staged at a venue in
the Florida Keys. Pageants will begin at 5 p.m.
Contestants will be judged on beauty, intelligence, poise,
personal achievement, physical fitness, personal style, leadership
and contribution to the community by a panel of certified judges.
Taking first place will qualify the winner as the Miss Homestead/FL
Keys USA® or the Miss Homestead/FL Keys Teen USA® titleholder.
Titleholders are expected to participate in a varied, demanding
and rewarding schedule of community service activities while
they prepare for state competition. They will act as delegates
on behalf of Halavin Productions and the Miss USA® Pageant
system to a wide range of public events.
To provide contestants with the finest preliminary pageant
experience possible, organizers are asking local businesses,
community organizations and community members for sponsorship
through financial or gift-in-kind support.
